While I waited patiently for her response it was clear to me that she is abusing the insurance system (medicare/medicaid) by using well made frames for display yet providing malfunction frames to patients The majority of her patients are low income non-English speaking patients on public assistance that depend on her services It was very clear that she takes advantage of these patients and does not provide proper and ethical services while abusing the system. Not only does she owe me $195 she also owes my insurance company $225. Save yourself frustration and disappointment and go to a reputable eye specialist and reputable eye center for your eye exams and to purchase your eyeglasses and /or contacts, where you and your family are treated with utmost respect and appreciate your business..... unfortunately scums like Patel only care about their greediness and not HUMANITY. She is a human doing and not a human being!!!!!!
Dr Grishma P Patel and her University eye institute were unwilling and refused to refund my partial payment of $195 of which I paid with a credit card upon request on August 01 2017. This dollar amount was required/requested by her clinic, in order to process my eyeglasses prescription. Approximately 3 weeks later I received a call from the University Eye Institute advising that my glasses were ready for pick up. On September 06 2017 I arrived to the clinic to pick up my new eyeglasses and pay the remaining balance of $195. However the glasses did not meet my expectations in that the frame's arms did not hold the eyeglasses in place. The arms were then tighten several times but instead continued to loosen even more, allowing for the frame/eyeglasses to move all over my face.I then requested my prescription and my partial payment be returned.Instead I was told by the doctor to go pick out another pair of frames. After following her request there still were no frames that meet my expectations. Again I requested my prescription and money be returned. Instead I was ignored and told that she would show me frames in her private frame glass case. I declined her offer and therefore Dr Patel declined my refund stating that because of her loss my refund would "probably" be mailed to me in two weeks!I then requested that my credit card be credited immediately. She abruptly continued to decline my refund stating that because of her loss she was unable to credit my refund to my credit card yet it worked very well when withdrawing monies upon her request.
Thank you,
I have purchase 4 pairs of glasses at University Eye Institute. Dr. Grishma Patel is a very wonderful and caring person, she always wears a smile and is very thorough with the eye exams and total patient needs. The staff at the office is great. I would recommend them to anybody for their eye needs.
Called to confirm my appointment the day of, and there was a mix-up with the appointment. I didn't reschedule. To my surprise they called me later and sincerely apologized for the mix-up then gave me my choice of times to come in the next day, and I'm glad I did. I was surprised to see such a wide selection of frames. Everyone was awesome, I loved Dr. Patel, it was a real pleasure to meet her and the staff.
